“A drawing is simply a line going for a walk.” – Paul Klee

I love the way Paul Klee relates the act of drawing to going for a walk:  Sometimes we walk because we want to reach a specific destination, or to complete some task; sometimes we walk to get out of the house, to go someplace fresh, to see something a little different.  There are as many reasons to start a drawing as there are to take a walk.

Each drawing is a journey.  Some journeys are arduous; others are less so.  Some take forever and seemingly go nowhere.  Others are over in a flash.  At the end, we have a drawing, a finished piece that is a record of the journey we took in thought and imagination.

Here you will find a record of my journeys, a collection of drawings that reflect places I’ve been, things I’ve seen, people I’ve known, thoughts I’ve pondered.  Perhaps you will be inspired by what you see here.  If so, I hope you pick up a pencil of your own and go take a line for a walk.
